Common Sensations Of Hypnosis

There are a few signs you can look out for that will tell you you're going into a state of trance.

All of these are perfectly normal and natural responses to hypnosis. They include:

  • Flickering eyelids (Rapid Eye Movement);
  • Eyes moving back and forth;
  • Tingling or numbness in the body;
  • A feeling of heaviness in the body;
  • A floating feeling like you’re detached from the body;
  • Tummy rumbling

It’s Normal To Hear And Remember Everything

Physical sensations of self-hypnosis

It’s perfectly normal to hear and understand everything that is said to you, so don’t pay attention to those old myths that have been circulating around for years about hypnosis causing some kind of amnesia or out of body experience.

Regardless of whether you go into a light trance or a very deep trance, the suggestions which have been given still take effect.

Sometimes, when you come out of hypnosis you may feel no differently than you did before. If this happens that’s okay - you can rest assured that the suggestions have been heard by your subconscious and will be acted upon.

It’s Also Normal To Miss Sections Of What I Say

As you get used to my voice you may find your mind wandering off more and more and there may be whole sections of the recording where you think: ‘Huh? What did she just say??’

This is also perfectly normal and it’s okay for your mind to wander off. Your subconscious mind is always listening very carefully to what I say and it will accept every suggestion that is beneficial to you.
